The Process
The initial pencil sketch will be sent to the homeowner for proofing before the pen and ink drawing is begun. Any requested adjustments can be made at this point.
The size of the finished House Portrait is approximately 11x14”, suitable for framing.
A reduction of the original artwork is kept on file to produce note cards or Christmas cards if desired.
Each drawing is on museum quality Arches 140 lb. hot pressed watercolor paper using permanent archival ink. The addition of watercolor, after the pen and ink rendering is completed, is at the discretion of the client.
The process is an interactive experience that begins with a talk with the homeowner to discover the home’s unique characteristics.
After the consultation, the home is photographed, concentrating on architectural features, landscaping and important details.
